I was a mentor even before I had a proper business of my own, while I felt like an imposter playing that role, I eventually realized that it wasn’t all wrong, I did after all had 15 years of marketing experience and a side digital hustle I was too shy to call a business, even though it was more steady than my actual full time job!

But once I finally broke the shackles and decided to be my own boss, I was lucky enough to find myself a mentor who had experience of building businesses from scratch and was willing to share all the information with me I needed. As an already successful person he had no insecurities, so he not only guided me through the process, but importantly kept encouraging me in those doubtful moments, when I just couldn’t believe I was enough to do something so big all on my own. And that’s what a wonderful mentor do, they don’t let you feel; lonely.. And helpless.

Relying on a business mentor can be beneficial for several aspects in your life. From professional development to personal development a mentor can help in every aspect.

Mentors allow their mentees to see the best of them. They are there to provide moral support with an advice to lean on. If you expect someone to provide encouragement and guidance along your journey, then you need a good mentor.

Having someone that helps you set measurable goals is an absolute must. Creating goals that allow you to get out of your comfort zone is the goal of any mentor and mentee relationship. Mentors also allow you to ensure that you have clarity on how you plan on achieving those goals you have set for yourself.

Consistency is essential for achieving your set goals in life. It challenges you to continuously move forward and reach new heights. By writing your goals down and then sharing those with your mentor, you will be more willing to achieve them. Mentors are designed to challenge you and talk you through anything you deem important in order to be successful in life.
