Palwasha Bashir- Badminton Player
Palwasha is a National Badminton Champion of Pakistan. With Triple Crown in Pakistan i.e. she bagged a gold medal in all three events (singles, women’s doubles, and mix doubles). Palwasha is the only female in the history of Pakistan Badminton to bag a bronze medal in women’s singles event in South Asian games. She Represented Pakistan in common wealth games, in Glasgow and Australia and also won a gold medal in Maldives International League. Palwasha is internationally ranked 147 in Badminton and her aim is to come in top 100 and qualify for Olympics to represent Pakistan.

Something you wish you knew 5 years ago
Palwasha: Nothing. Yes nothing, because the wisdom that I’ve gained is solely due to the decisions I made, both right and wrong. Had I known something then, it would have made me take some other decision and eventually I would have ended in some other place which may not have been this good.
So,I’m at peace and content with whatever I’ve done and whatever I’m planning to do ahead.
What’s your favorite thing about yourself
Palwasha: Never giving up attitude. I can withstand all bruises to reach the victory stand.
Biggest hurdle you had to face in your professional journey
Palwasha: Lack of sponsorships and international trainings. Also, a few injuries that took long to heal because of inadequate medical diagnosis and facilities.
Which woman has influenced you most in life
Palwasha: My mother, a true example of patience and perseverance
How do you wind down when you’re not working
Palwasha: Spending time with friends and family, also watching Netflix is the best way to unwind
What does being a powerful woman/ boss woman mean to you
Palwasha: Someone having the confidence, courage and determination to come out and make a mark in the world
What do you think is one of the hardest things women face today, whether in the workplace or in their personal lives
Palwasha: Multi-tasking to meet the expectations of society as well as working to achieve their own goals.
What is your message for all the potential boss women out there
Palwasha: Never give up on your dreams. Hard work always pays off.
