ANNUAL KHI AWARDS 2 OGANIZED BY K-ELECTRIC – YET ANOTHER INITIATIVE TOWARDS DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
The KHI Awards 2 by KE were hosted at Governor House, KHI awards is one of the most prestigious event, an initiative endorsed by NEPRA and launched in collaboration with #IAmKarachi. The event was held to appreciate and value the services of NGOs that work tirelessly for the betterment of Karachi. Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail, CEO K-Electric, Moonis Alvi, NEPRA Chairman, Tauseef Farooqi, the legendary Anwar Maqsood and singer turned philanthropist Shehzad Roy among several other dignitaries, graced the occasion with their presence.
Every year, KE calls upon organizations who are determined to work for the betterment of the city. Doing something for your city and impacting lives is truly what matters, as KE CEO Moonis Alvi said in his opening speech last night. One should always lead by example, and KE has done a fantastic job of doing so. It is only natural that they’re recognizing people and institutions because this company cares deeply about its community and wants others doing similar work to be recognized.
The KHI Awards’ core spirit is one of the main reasons for their enormous success. When institutions with good intentions come together, something magical is bound to happen. Winners of the awards were chosen from thirteen categories which included Empowering Women, Education, Digital Accessibility and Financial Inclusion, Heritage and Culture, Public Health (in all sectors), Safety, Sports, Inclusion, Lively Hoods and Vocational Training, Social Service, Sustainability and Environment and Uplifting Communities. With KHI Awards, KE makes it a point to shed light on these crucial socially elevating issues.
KE independently has been part of several such projects rooting for diversity and inclusion by empowering females of the society to take on rolls such as meter reading and other responsibilities that are generally stereotyped as “a man’s job.” With its Roshni Baji project, KE truly is setting bars high for various organizations and from time to time making us realise that it is one of the very few organizations working for the benefit of our society. Other noteworthy projects that were also praised at the KHI Awards 2 include Women on Wheels, which aims to make women more independent by teaching them how to ride a bike. This truly is breaking the bias in our society. As a matter of fact, KE’s whole leadership is a perfect example that where there are strong women, great things happen.
KHI Awards is the perfect example of actions speaking louder than words. KE’s effort to be Karachi’s goodwill ambassador in the corporate world is no longer a secret. Their genuine efforts have shown that they prioritize solving the city’s challenges on all fronts through their sincere efforts.
